University of Malawi Kamuzu College of Nursing

University of Malawi Kamuzu College of Nursing

The Kamuzu College of Nursing has two campuses. The main campus is in Lilongwe, next to Lilongwe Central Hospital. The other campus is in Blantyre within the premises of Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital. A new Blantyre campus has since been built at Kameza, a few metres from Chileka round-about towards Lilongwe. The college has two faculties: Nursing and Midwifery. Over the years, the college has trained highly qualified and dedicated nursing and midwifery personnel for the whole nation and the region as well. Its programmes prepare graduate nurses and midwifery personnel to contribute to the overall development of a healthy society with a high level of professional ability. The programmes offered by the college provide students with a broad understanding of the scope and nature of contemporary health issues along with relevant knowledge, skills, attitudes and professional behaviour in primary health care as well as leadership and management in health care systems. The graduates are therefore prepared to provide a variety of health-related services in a variety of community and hospital settings.
