Biography

Elizabeth Ekirapa-Kiracho, MBBS, PhD, MPH, is a health economist with experience managing, conducting and analyzing health-related research in a variety of fields. Her specific areas of expertise include maternal and newborn health, health systems, health financing, performance-based financing, costing and economic evaluation. She has been the principal investigator of several projects focused on understanding and influencing implementation processes for maternal and neonatal health interventions while robustly evaluating their impact. She is a co-investigator of the OMWaNA study and the Co-Developing and Disseminating an Investment Case for Small and Sick Newborn Care in Uganda project. Ekirapa-Kiracho is an associate professor and head of the Department of Health Policy, Planning, and Management at the Makerere University School of Public Health. She received her MBBS and MPH from Makerere University, her MPH in Health Economics from the University of Cape Town and her PhD in Health Economics and Health Systems Research from Trinity College Dublin.
