Biography

Victor Tumukunde, MBChB, MPH, MMed, is a pediatrician and scientist at the Medical Research Council/Uganda Virus Research Institute and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) Uganda Research Unit, based in Entebbe. He has more than 10 years of experience conducting clinical research and trials. Tumukunde is a co-principal investigator and trial coordinator of the OMWaNA study at five hospitals in Uganda, and a co-investigator of the Co-Developing and Disseminating an Investment Case for Small and Sick Newborn Care in Uganda project. He received his MBChB in Medicine and MMed in Pediatrics and Child Health at Makerere University, and his MPH in International Health from the University of Edinburgh. He is currently completing his PhD work at LSHTM, which focuses on the implementation of kangaroo care among neonates before stabilization in Uganda.
