UZ-UCSF CTU, a partnership between the University of Zimbabwe and UCSF with support from NIH and other sponsors, conducts high-quality Phase I-IV clinical trials on the control and prevention of HIV/AIDS, particularly among women, adolescents and pregnant and breastfeeding women. The CTU collaborates with NIAID-affiliated HIV/AIDS Networks such as the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Network (IMPAACT) and HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN). Our research includes studying oral, intravaginal and injectable PrEP formulations for HIV prevention, strategies to prevent mother-to-child transmission, and HIV remission in neonates with intensive antiretroviral therapy.
