Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Model of Women and Girls’ Empowerment:

The BMGF has outlined a Model for Women and Girls’ empowerment that pulls together components of previous frameworks, including domains of agency, resources, and institutional structures. At the core of agency is women having decision-making power, which they can also leverage into leadership and collective action. Resources include assets like knowledge and information, access to money, and social capital, but also health, and critical consciousness (or power within). Finally, institutional structures highlights that empowerment is multi-level, including the family, community, and state, and that it also requires change in relationships, norms, and laws and policies
