Dr. Mudawarima is a Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician  at the Children’s Rehabilitation Unit at Harare Central Hospital and is a lecturer with the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences. After attaining her primary medical and paediatric qualifications at the University of Zimbabwe, she trained at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and University of Cape Town in Developmental Paediatrics. She has interest in interdisciplinary management and community involvement in the care of children with disability and delineating the etiology of disability in Southern Africa with the aim of reducing the incidence of preventable disability in the region. She has also noted the impact of cultural beliefs in the care seeking behavior of families in Zimbabwe and believes more research is needed to explore cultural understanding of developmental disability and how to support families with affected children.
